My Inspiration
When the three of us got together to discuss what types of fairies we wanted to portray, I immediately gravitated to a summery woodland nymph. I aimed for a dewy golden summer look with lush greens and earthy tones. This look reminds me of 1999's A Mid-Summer Night's Dream.
Costume and Prop Information
The costume is suuuuuper simple. I grabbed a hunter-green scarf and tied it around my bodice. The crown was made with floral wire, faux ferns, and succulents from JoAnn. You can find the horns on Amazon. If I were to complete this costume, I would wear brown crinkle palazzo pants or a brown crinkle maxi skirt; something flowy with a bit of texture.
Makeup Information
Eyebrows
I blocked my eyebrows using the Elmer's glue method and used an orange color corrector to help hide the darkness of my brows.
I then powdered the color corrector and layered the area with a concealer matching my skin tone. I repeated these steps until my eyebrows were well hidden. pro tip: press the product into the brow area, don't rub.
Contour
Smashbox Contour Palette (basic contouring to suit your face shape) + BH Tokyo pallet Imperial Palace
Blush (around the temples and on the sides of the forehead)
Gold eye shadow + NYX Steal Your Man foil cream eyeshadow
Eye Lid
I used a messy combination of dark and bright greens from the BH Tokyo pallet (Imperial Palace and Rainbow Bridge) and went over the center with the same gold shadow.
Lips
Revlon Lipstick |755 Bare it All + a gold highlighter
Hair
My hair is 100 % natural air dried. I picked it up in a low messy bun and pulled pieces of my hair around my face.
That's all for this week!
